The Beginning of the First Homeschool Golf Team in Indiana
In 2022, Indy Genesis' growth across many other sports brought families who also had golfers interested in playing in high school. Matt Hogan, Indy Genesis President, sent a communication to the organization seeking to understand how many athletes are interested in playing along with any candidates to serve in ledership. Graham Nelson, one of the original Indy Genesis athletes from 2011 and a current soccer coach, replied expressing interest to serve as the Varsity Head Coach and the Athletic Director. Many other players expressed interest and the first homeschool golf team was established with five (5) players. The team practiced at Smock Golf Course and competed in many public school meets and tournaments. It was a great start to Indy Genesis golf and homeschool golf in Indiana!
