SOCCER
First organized in 2011, Indy Genesis balances fun and Christian fellowship while playing competitive soccer against public, private, and home school teams. There are opportunities throughout the year for all ages - elementary, middle, and high school students.
The teams have excelled over the years winning the following awards: National Championship Runners-Up in Girls Varsity in 2013 and 2015. Indiana State Champions for Boys Varsity in 2014, 2017, 2018, and 2021 and for Girls Varsity 2012, 2013, 2014. National Team Sportsmanship Award for Boys Varsity in 2014 and Girls Varsity in 2015 and 2018.
An overview of the fall, winter, and spring opportunities are below.
Fall Season
(2nd week of July to Oct. 31)
Ages - U6-U12 + middle school (co-ed); Boys - JV and Varsity; Girls - JV and Varsity
Focus: Building Christlike character through competitive soccer
Games: Some travel required. Games are played in metro-Indy area and state-wide on weeknights and Saturdays.
Practices: 2-3 times per week, depending on age and game schedule
Tournaments: Boys JV/Varsity and Girls JV/Varsity

Midwest Cup - usually in September; metro-Indy travel

State Tournament - usually the 2nd weekend in October; in-state travel

Homeschool Soccer National Championships - last weekend in October; overnight travel
Winter Opportunities
(January/February)
Footskills Camp - Middle school and elementary athletes; focus is learning and improving foot skills. Time and Place: This has been offered on Thursdays at the Gathering Place for many years.
Indoor League at the Gathering Place - Boys high school varsity and JV; focus is competition and community. Games are played on Saturday nights. No practices.
Tournament: Boys Varsity Indoor Soccer League at The Gathering Place
Spring Season
(April/May)
Ages - 4-18; focus is on team-building and skills improvement
Practices are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings- depending on age. Games are played on Saturdays, at Mount Pleasant Christian Church.
