Excellence is a core value of Genesis. Excellence occurs in many ways - with coaches, schedules put together, approach to sports, etc.  We believe providing opportunities to recognize athletes is important.

 

Genesis provides athletes with the ability to get a Varsity Letterman Jacket once they letter in a varsity sport.  Team and individual patches can be purchased to be sewn on the jacket as well.  To earn a varsity letter, an athlete must meet the requirements outlined below for their sport:

Baseball

1. Be in good standing with the Athlete's Code of Conduct (e.g., respect, unity, etc.).

2. Play in at least 50% of the varsity games.

Basketball​

1. Be in good standing with the Athlete's Code of Conduct (e.g., respect, unity, etc.).

2. Play in at least 50% of the varsity games.

​

Cross Country​

1. Be in good standing with the Athlete's Code of Conduct (e.g., respect, unity, etc.).

2. Participate in at least 75% of the high school meets (excluding National Championships).

3. Finish as one of the top seven runners in at least three (3) high school varsity races OR finish as one of the top seven runners in the Nationals Championships varsity race OR Seniors completing a full season including running in the National Championships.

Golf​

1. Be in good standing with the Athlete's Code of Conduct (e.g., respect, unity, etc.).

2. Play in at least 50% of the varsity matches.

Soccer​

1. Be in good standing with the Athlete's Code of Conduct (e.g., respect, unity, etc.).

2. Play in at least 75% of the varsity games OR a high school senior who competed the last four years in Soccer with Indy Genesis.

Track​

1. Be in good standing with the Athlete's Code of Conduct (e.g., respect, unity, etc.).

2. Participate in at least 75% of the high school meets, excluding indoor and showcase meets..

3. Score at least 1 point in a varsity event in at least three (3) high school meets OR score at least 3 points at the National Championships OR Seniors fulfilling requirements #1 and #2 and competing at the National Championships.

Volleyball

1. Be in good standing with the Athlete's Code of Conduct (e.g., respect, unity, etc.).

2. Play in at least 50% of the varsity games OR be named to the varsity roster for State Championships.

The varsity head coach makes the decisions regarding which players have met the requirements stated above.

​

For those athletes that letter, they will receive their letter and chevron at the end-of-season banquet. Below are the jackets that can be ordered as well. The jackets are wool and come from the same company that handles public and private schools. Patches can be ordered by any athlete based on individual awards received at the banquet (e.g., All-State, The Gospel Award) or a competition (e.g., 100m State Champion) or team award at a competition (e.g., State Champions).
