Samaria Blackwell is a former Indy Genesis athlete who competed on the Genesis basketball and soccer teams. On April 15, 2021, 19-year-old Samaria Blackwell, was called home to be with Jesus. This scholarship has been established to honor her memory.

 

Samaria was named from a story told in the Bible by Jesus about loving your neighbor. Samaria modeled that love for others in her life for friends, strangers, and her opponents. A fierce competitor on the field, she never lost sight of the simple fact that the rival on the other side was a person and loved by God. She lived a life that displayed service for others. 

 

Athletics were an integral part of Samaria’s homeschooled life. She played both basketball and soccer for The Indy Genesis. This scholarship was created to honor Samaria while providing opportunities for families to participate in homeschool athletics who have financial need.

Please submit your Samaria Blackwell Scholarship application by January 15 to be considered for the spring 2025 scholarship opportunities.  Scholarship recipients will be chosen and notified by January 31.
